FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here we can answer some of our most common queries about our skip hire, but please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

1. HOW LONG IS THE SKIP HIRE FOR?

The fee for skip hire is for 14 days, unless otherwise agreed by us in writing. Every 7 days after that is £60 incl. VAT. The finish date is the date you inform us that you'd like the skip picked up, so there is no charge after. We promise to pick up the skip within 5 working days.

2. HOW WIDE DOES MY DRIVE NEED TO BE?

Ideally, we need an entrance at least a minimum of 3.10m wide and 3.90m high to park the skip but our EXTRA REACH delivery vehicles means we can deliver skips where others may not be able to.

3. DO I NEED A PERMIT FOR A SKIP?

If it's to be kept on a private driveway or garden - no. If it's on a public road, then, yes. But we can help and advice you on this.

4. WHAT CAN I PUT IN THE SKIP?

Probably our most frequently asked question! So please see the allowed and disallowed items on the Our Skips page. Hazardous waste such as pots full of paint and electrical items are NOT ALLOWED. It is illegal for you to mix hazardous waste with non-hazardous waste in a skip. If in doubt, please call us.

5. HOW MUCH WILL BE RECYCLED?

As part of the Absolute Rubbish company, the fastest and greenest waste disposal business in Wiltshire, we will sort & recycle as much as we possibly can (e.g.) wood & metals. Nearly 90% of the waste we collect is recycled. What we can't recycle is then processed at a local, authorised treatment facility.

6. DO YOU PICK UP AT WEEKENDS?

Our typical delivery and pick-up times are Monday to Saturday, but we realise that a Sunday may be more convenient for you, so we can deliver and pick up on a Sunday for an extra fee. Please call us for full details.
